Wondering if anyone has tried this because I am very seriously thinking about purchasing a screen and giving it a shot.

First of all I have a Alpine 9855 deck with the IPOD interface. I just got an IPOD video (that thing is bad ***) and I was wondering if I can install a screen in my car and watch video from the IPOD while having it plugged into the deck. Essentially having the sound coming from the system then video from the Screen in the car.

Now, I went out and purchased the IPOD RCA cable and that basically plugs into the headphone plug, then RCA into any TV. So now I can play videos on my TV from my IPOD and it works flawlessly. So I figure ****, why not plug it into a TV in the car, but then I am unsure if the audio and video will work together.

I did a little troubleshooting and I know that the headphone plug works, when the IPOD is running on the Alpine adaptor, but you have to have the TV output on. So I figure, why wouldnt it work for video??????

Best case scenario would be to have a lil TV to test it on, but the TVs in my house are huge and I am not about to try and get it into my garage. Anyone ever tried this, or know of a reason why it wouldn't work???

 

interesting. are you sure you cannot do all this through the interface to the alpine? You should be able to choose the movie from your alpine console and watch it through what ever LCD screen you have installed. The sound should also the same way.
