Ipod-Nav Cubby or Armrest Compartment??
Going to hook up an Ipod to the back of my headunit w/ dual RCA to mini jack connection. Should I pull the wire through the Nav Cubby (I don't have Nav) or up through the armrest compartment? I have seen pics of both, & as long as I can hide the wires (ie: close the compartment door) when not in use, either seems like a pretty good idea. For those of you w/ either of these connections, why did you chose one over the other??

I put mine in the armrest as the Nav Cubby is full of Farenhiet video screen. I left the cables long enough in the armrest that I can pull the thing forward and drop it into a cupholder that sits in my coin pocket. I just random play the thing so looking at/touching it wasn't important to me.
Only one of the two wires is showing in the picture above as I have to plug in the DC power and the headphone jack to drive the headend.

i pulled mine out right next to the left of my stick and then i have an ipod holder i bought from proclipusa.com that mounts right next to my headunit on the left and is amazing. And just plug it into the bottom of my ipod using the rca cables from nyko that allow you to plug it into the bottom. It works great and looks very clean especially if you want to control your ipod i would do it that way.

I didn't feel like drilling holes until i find a suitable spot so for now it comes out behind my driver's seat with a few feet of cable so I can set it where ever I want it. It is just the mini jack though so I have to use a seperate charger. I really like Paul's set up though and might copy it.
EDIT: Paul I see you are getting power though the dock cable, but how are you also using that to send the signal to the head unit. I see a cable but don't see how you have it connected. I'm sure I'm just out of it and missing something, but could you explain how you hooked that up please.

i dont have pics but here was were the holder is in the site below. Where the black rectangle is on the left. It goes right there and you put the ipod holder on that and then ur ipod in the holder nad the wire comes out a little bit below the air controls. Ill have pics in the next couple of weeks cuz im buying a screen and hookin my ipod video up to it so ill take pics. And the wire i use is nyko look on amazon its cheap.
