depends on wattage. low wattage= stock wires ok. high wattage = upgrade to lower guage. Don't buy speaker wire at car audio store. go online or buy wire, Bestbuy, or something equivalent. Remember that copper is copper.

Upgrade the wire to oxygen free copper somewhere in the 18-14awg range. It will sound better.

I recommend 12-14 from amp to crossover, 16-14AWG to mids and 18 to tweets..that way if you end up upgrading or adding an amp in the future you will be all set. Oh, and the wattage specs of the speaker are not what determines the required wire size..it's the wattage of the signal you will be sending to them. If you are using stock Headunit and no aftermarket amp I would guess you are sending somewhere between 10-16watts per channel without too much distortioin. Stock wiring would be sufficient for that as thats what was used to handle the power in the first place. Now if you're gonna splice the head unit output into an amp or replace the headunit with aftermarket and/or add an amp..definitely go with the aforementioned sized wire upgrades.

JL xr650 component speaker
JL xr650 coaxial speaker
powered by JL 300/4 amp
JL 10w3v2 sub

i have dynamatt, the nazar pods, and a 2 to 4 gauge jl amp wire kit
the coaxials come with speaker wire but the components didn't ...
with that setup what wires should i be using

the sub is going into the stock sub location with tons of dynamatt =D
