big problem....
i dont no where to start, but here i go...
I have 2003 350z enthusiast, so i decided to upgrade my sound..
so i was like ill change out all the speakers and go with the Alpine Type R component in the front and Alpine Type R coxial in the rear, along with this im going to have an alpine amp (Alpine 360W x 2 Bridgeable Multichannel MOSFET Amplifier Model: MRP-F240) oh yeah i was using my stock stereo. so i got it installed at CirCuit City, after 7 hours of waiting, finally it was done. IT SOUNDED ****TY, dont no what is wrong with it, first of all i know i need base, it is tooo HIGH PITCH...which i understand. but alot of destortion..i have my base at -4 and Treble at 0. and it is ****ty, liek it squeeks, i cant turn the base up cuase it pounds like its busted..so i showed it to some other guy today..and he was like you might need to get a different amp, or the speakers in teh door are not in correct, becuase they might be hitting against the frame.. dont know what to do, i dont want to keep spending money on it.....help

If possible, take you reciept and visit a different Cricuit City. Let them check it out. If another store is not available, take it back to the store that did the install, but request a different installer check it out. As long as you have the reciept showing they did the work, it will all be free.
From what you described, sounds like an installer error somewhere.

should of went to best buy. but since you didn't i'm gonna tell you what is a big problem first. the type r's are really power hungry and that 4 channel amp that pushes 40 watts by 4 rms power is only half as much as you need. secondly one of the speakers or two of them could be out of phase. causing it to sound like poo. Also i honestly don't know how they put the components in the front doors with out making some sort of spacer. if they did a crappy fabrication job on the spacer its probally not sealed up very good and that will make a speaker sound like its just playing with no midrange. imagine taking a speaker and holding it in your hand while its playing, there isn't any backpressure if you would call it that or baffle. I have type r's and they absolutely pound for 6.5's that is.
Inovashn -- i also have 2 input converter since im going wtiht my stock radio
i took it to hifi buys, and they say my gain on my amp and input converter might be too high??..and they say they probably didnt install the component right, its probably some air going thru it, which you hear a horrible sound.. um should i dynamat the whole door (driver and passenger)??

Sounds to me like you have the gains set wrong and perhaps need to do some signal EQing. It's not easy to get things sounding well in the Z, especially if you are doing a tricky conversion from HU to LOC to amp. Does your amp have its own LOC within it? I mean can you run the HU output directly to it as a high signal? If so, that would bypass the LOC and the gain level adjustments on it.
If you want info on setting gains with a voltmeter and test tones let me know. Likely the gains are being overdriven to early distortion and possibly the amp you have will not sufficient;y provide the level you are looking for without being overdriven...what is it's RMS output at 14v?
lastly, I have handcrafted many spacers for the doors and I will tell you they make a world of differences if done wrong.. the spacers, speakers, doorframes, and door panels all come in to play to get good sounding mids. Is your door well damped with matting? Especially around the mid and behind it?

it probally would be worth your while to go ahead and through a $200 deck in it. the preamp out puts are worth their weight in gold compared to the output converters. if not, then I definetly agree with the adjustment matching the input and output of the loc's and amps. You should go back as soon as possible. "30 day return policy." so if they can't get it sounding good enough for you then you are absolutely entitled to get a full refund.
