AVIC-D1 vs AVN5435
Does anyone know what the major differences in the Pioneer AVIC-D1 and the Eclipse AVN5435 is? Are they both easy to bypass the saftey modes? I have a 05 Enthusiest Coupe with the stock stereo system in it. Is there anything else as for as adapters I will also need to buy? Do both of these have AM, FM built in?

Have you visited the Eclipse site?: www.eclipse-web.com I am not familar with the Pioneer, but know the "N" in the Eclipse model is for navigation. I have the Eclipse AVX2494 in my "Tour". Does not have NAV. Didn't want or need. An awesome system that woke up my OEM Bose Speaker system.

It's super easy to bypass. I have the D1. It will play DVD's through the Aux output. Never thought to check the DVD play after the bypass. I can get back to you if you on that, if you want?

the d1 is strictly a dvd rom drive to read the navigation dvd's. it will not play or read video dvd's. the bypass for the unit is so that you can watch an external dvd source while driving, it also unlocks some of the navigation features while driving.

Looks like the Eclipse AVN5435 is the best I have heard of. Does anyone have that one. Any pics? does it just drop in or do you need some special adapters?
