Kenwood DDX7017 DVD double din head unit
2 pair of Polk Audio db650 6.5"
2 10" Alpine Type R subwoofers 2 ohm load
Fiberglass painted enclosure
Alpine MRD-M1005 1000w rms @ 2 ohm
home made amp shelf




oh how sexy it sounds!

That was creative how the amp rack bracket was bolted to the metal tab in the cubby.

ya there 2 solid bars that we bent to connect to the front bolts, all the way under the board, then up to the back tabs. used the bolts that i removed with the sub-panel.

well, no. I wanted to see what it sounded like without one first, and add it if nessecary.

I was suprised at how good it sounds without one. Im getting plenty of power from the headunit to keep them from being muffled by the subs. so, for now, im just going to keep it that way. Maybe add another amp later, who knows.

looks good, but did you lose or forget to put the trim rubber pieces back on the subs.

p.s. - go ahead and get a small 4 channel to run the mids and highs

+1 on getting an amp for your mids/highs...i just put one on my Polk Momo's and they scream.

looks good. i would have painted the back of the box black to match the strut tower, looks good though.

im thinking they used a single din radio kit, and just cut out the plastic peice that would have gone through the center
