How are you getting audio through the unit? Is it FM Modulated?

I get no audio through mine of course I have the voice off. I just get pissed that I have to hit the OK button everytime I start the car.

I think that's the only way to do it, unless you have an aftermarket HU. Neither the Bose nor the other radio have inputs available.

my aftermarket apline DVD nav sends sound to an amplified speaker in the 6.5" screen. All other channels send a composite and L/R to the screen for output as well.

I think all aftermarket navs, short of those with a popup in dash screen, will require some other speaker to produce nav voice. The DVD audio, ie. movies, should go through a FM modulator.

Default FM Modulated Sounds Awful

FYI:
My DVD is fm modulated. The sounds is somewhat distorted. Not anywhere close to sounds I get from the CD player. This is my main reason for wanting to change out the head unit.
