The Bose System
Hello,
I am new to this forum. I have ordered a Touring model and will take delivery of it in mid Feb. I have heard the Bose system prior to the "fix". I did not think it was very good at all, and was told by the dealer that Nissan was working to resolve the problem(s). Based on the negative feedback on the Bose systems, even after the"Fix", I feel that I too will be disapointed with the audio system since so many others on this site have complained. I have a very picky ear when it comes to audio. I have replaced every audio system in every car I have owned. None of my previous cars manufactures bragged about there systems the way Nissan did, so I did not expect too much. One of the reasons I chose the Touring model was due to the upgraded audio system. The one that Nissan says will deliver "The truest and fullest sound" It's not like they are installing generic Delco's, but rather a "custom Bose" system.
I would like to know if anyone on this site who feels that the Bose system is sub-standard (sucks) has taken on the task of getting a formal petition together to mail to Nissan. If so please let me know where to sign. If not how can I create one for the forum?

Ok, why wouldn't I order a Z or a touring model? My only beef is with the Bose system. I love everything else about the car. I'd be nuts not to get the car because of the audio system. My guess is that you are yanking my chain since I am a newbie.
And yes a petition. The general consensus on this forum is that the Z rocks! and the Bose System sucks. Nissan is claiming that the "Custom" Bose system is better then it really is. Again I am basing my opinion that the system sucks (even with the fix) on what the MAJORITY of the Z owners are saying. I have read that some people are complaining to Nissan, however there comments up to this point seem to have fallen on deaf ears. I think If we speak with one loud voice they might listen. If nothing else we can pave the way for people who purchase the next generation of Z's. Nissan may decide to put in a better audio system, or... Alpine, Kenwood, Sony, etc. may decide to build systems specifically for the car. It sure beats bitching and moaning and getting nothing done. You don't have to sign if you don't agree.

sorry...
i just think its pointless.
btw - ppl on the net tend to whine and ***** a lot.
i wouldnt base your assessment of the bose on opinions on this forum.
you for eg. if you've had a $4k system in your caR B4 - HOW can you bve satisfied with the Zs system. I'm sure that rthe pre26 set are bitchin b/c their friends cant hear them boomin on the next block.
Its a stock system - its better than most stock systems - in fact better than my $2.5k sony es/kenwood/clarion/orion system...granted the z has a lower limit of what sounds like 60hz...either way - i digress.
enjoy your z.
p.s. if you are gonna install a system...just get the track or perf?

Hey man,
thanks for your comments. You are right, it was probably wishful thinking on my part to think that any stock system would sound awesome as advertised. I am thirtySomething and not into the "Boomin" music. However I do like to crank up some of that good old Rock music from the 60's, 80,s, 90's, and y2k. (notice I left out the 70's ) Plus, I have a recording studio and I like to use my cars as references, as most music is listened to in cars anyway. I respect your feedback, and I thank you for your input. Perhaps I should at least live with the system for a while, then form an opinion. Thanks again!!!

be sure to let me know what you think re: the bose when you get your Z.
It seems a lot of complaints are due to the fact that the system doesnt treally add range to music.
Since you seem to understand "reference" systems - you may be pleasantly surprised with teh Z bose. I find that it simply gives you whats on the CD. Throw some flat rock in - get loud rock out, throw bumping house music in there...yep! theres that bass that you cant add to steely dan...
