vash, is the '04 non-bose satillite ready? If so, PAC AAI-NIS should work. Do a search on Yahoo and you'll find it at log jam electronics as well as some other outlets.

Vash..the only way to know for sure if this will work is to get to the back of your head unit. If you have this 12 pin connector:

you can buy the Soundgate AUX-NISS adaptor. I'm not sure if the base head units have this connector.

vash - I did a search for stereo removal and found a few pics of people w/ base head units and they DID have that 12 pin adaptor, so you should be fine. I just ordered my AUX-NISS....expect an install this weekend. I'll take pics.

BTW, Davidnavone.com sells IPod Interfaces for around $39.00 and if anyone can make a quality product its him.

Vash, it's fairly straighforward. There's a how-to take the dash apart thread here w/ step by step pics. I don't have the link handy, but it's here. If I recall, a wiring diagram comes w/ the aux-niss. Very simple.

Second question - You're correct. This will give you a set of rca female inputs. You need to hook those to your ipod though. The best way is with a piece from blitzsafe called a universal ipod connector. It will hook into those rca inputs and connect to your ipod through the dock connector. This allows it to charge your ipod, as well as transmit the audio bypassing the ipod's equalization circuitry. The blitzsafe is available http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=793 as well as numerous other places.

The cheaper, less quality route would be to just get a cable with rca male connectors on one end and a stero mini jack(headphone jack) on the other end. This won't give you quite the same sound quality from your ipod, and it also won't charge it. http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=164

yep, that and two little connectors to mate the two rca cables since they are both female. you need a little male to male connector from radio shack or wherever.

Im surprised that you need two pieces, no one makes a device that plugs into the radio and also into the ipod?

With these two pieces you can control the ipod through the factory stereo buttons?

If all this plug into the back of the stere where is everyone making the cable come out to plug into the ipod? pics?
