Connect factory XM and Aux input
I would like to know how I can add a factory XM kit as well as an Aux input to my Bose HU. I knowthe unit has SAT1 and SAT2 and with using an adapter I can plug into the SAT connection on the back of the unit (or on the prewired N-BUS connector in the trunk area) and have 2 AUX inputs, but what I would like is one OEM XM and one AUX.
Are there 2 harnesses' for SAT connections or just one? If there is just one, can I cut the wires and send just an aux audio signal to the SAT2 input using the PAC AAI-NIS and still have the OEM XM signal through SAT1?
Before everyone starts telling me to go after market, I like the stock look and am not quite as concerned abut the audio quality as others, as I probably enjoy the sound of the Z as much or more than any song.....

i don't think that would be possible. The AAI-NIS converts the sat. input on the back of the head unit into two sets of rca inputs. I just don't think it'd be possible to easily convert only one to an aux. input. It may be possible for someone w/ the proper wiring schematics and lots of time, but don't expect an easy solution.

Well if there are really two different sets of inputs SAT1 and SAT2, there should be 2 seperate audio channels going through the N-Bus as well as the other wires needed for display etc....

I would agree, but these things are always much easier theoretically than they end up really being. If I knew more about the back of the 04-05 head and more about the factory sat. units, I could help more. Sorry.

the aai-nis plugs into one 12 pin connector on the back of the head unit and that gets you TWO sets of inputs. So I guess you'd have to get a wiring diagram for that 12 pin connection in order to possibly make this work.

Just getting to this thread, and have received my much anticipatted pac-aai-nis2. This is a newly released product that has a male and female 12-pin connector, so you can plug your factory 12-pin xm into it. There is a switch on the pac for satellite radio equipped vehicles, so that you can continue using the factory satellite while still having two audio ins.
