For those guys following the sub box build I posted pics of the box and rack just built for Aparshall. PM me if anybody is interested in one similar. To view the pics choose the FIBERGLASS Creations section. www.crazkustoms.com/gallery
first of all, this is a marked improvement over the last one, but i do have a few questions, and i dont mean to be rude...
from this pic

i have a few questions:
this is for flush moutning right? why is the outt circle cut so rough? a simple rip through the router will make a perfect circle everytime...
like this:

the second is that it seems thare are only two screws holding each joint? I use a nail gun, but if thats not possible, shouldnt there be more than just two?
other than that, it looks fine...but wonderin...

It appears that the circle is fixed and not so rough around the edge.
Mike if you could snap a picture of the amp rack from inside the cabin that would be great. It's hard to tell what it looks like right now, it almost looks like it is flat instead of angled.

Ill snap some more pics tomorrow. I did use a router and the circle is smooth. The center circle was also sanded smooth after the pic and after the vinyl it looks perfectly smooth. If you want Ill put some nails in with the gun tomorrow. It will only take me a minute. I didnt want to overkill it.

Also in addition to the screws I used a high adhesive wood glue on every part of the box before I screwed it in and it was sealed inside and out with a silcone caulking.

Im going to take pics of the rack tomorrow. It does angle down. I angled it as much as possible with the box underneath it. Also the box is 1.2 - 1.3 cubic feet.
Looks great.
Go ahead and ship it out.
I was looking at the pics again and became a little worried about one thing but it's hard to tell because things can look different in pictures versus real life. The mounting angle for the sub isn't too extreme is it? As i told you it's a really heavy duty sub with a really huge magnet, i am getting concerned that the magnet might hit the bottom of the box when placed in. But as i said it's impossible to determine with just pictures.

Ill ship it out monday. I made the angle so that the outside diameter is about 1/2" or less from the edge. If the angle was any less I would not be able to cut out an outside diameter. The wood is 3/4" so that gives you a little more than a 1/4" that can be shaved out on the bottom if necessary. I think it is a little less than a 45 degree. It's hard to make a box for a sub without having the sub for test fits. Any problems PM or call me. It will ship monday.
I'm a little confused. I am just saying i was concerned that it looks like the face where the sub mounts in to is at an angle to the rest of the box and that there could be a possibility that when the sub slides in it wont fit because the magnet will hit the bottom of the box.
Is this a legitamate concern or do the pics just look like that?

The pics may make it look angled a little more because it is under the strut. Is there something you would like me to do before I ship it out or any more pics that you want? If it was angled any less then I would not be able to make an outside diamter and it would come real close to the edge. Whats your magnet Diameter and depth maybe I can make a mock up sub and test it. It's hard without having you sub.
