Hi all, I've searched and looked at a lot of Ipod posts on here, but haven't seen anybody with this question... I've got an '05 Touring model with Bose audio. The car came with XM installed, so I've got the SAT button. Thing is, I'd really much rather use my Ipod in the Z than the XM. Can I somehow wire in the Ipod in place of the XM?? Could I be a total audiophile and have Radio/6CD/XM AND the Ipod wired in? I'd really like to stay away from the fm transmitters. What are my options? Thanks.

Nice thought for the future, but right now I'd like to keep what I've got and hopefully find an inexpensive way of doing this. Is it as easy as just unplugging one of my current inputs and replacing it with the ipod?

You can install a Pac AAI-NIS. This has inputs on both sides so that you can hook up your IPOD and XM directly through your radio. Here is a link of the install:

as inevitable says, you can do it, although i don't think you'll be able to use your nissan xm module. I haven't seen the connections on it though....I could be wrong.

If you are planning on getting rid of your XM, I would be very interested in purchasing it from you. I really love my XM and want to retain the factory look. Please PM me if you are and we can discuss price.
Thanks

Ok guys, I'm a newb to this and want to make sure I'm gonna get the right parts.... I followed the instructions on how to take apart the dash and took some pictures of my radio.

Could somebody list the parts I'll need to hook up the ipod, and let me know what I need to remove/plug-in to the back of the radio? Thanks for the help.

Matt,
Since you have a sat ready radio, you need the PAC AAI-NIS from pacaudio. I have never seen the piece personally, but once you get it, you'll know which plug it goes to - as it will only fit in one. I assume it will be one or both of the bottom plugs. Again, the instructions w/ the PAC will probably be more detailed.
350Z LMS - you need the Soundgate AUX-NISS. THis is what I have as well, since you have a non-sat ready radio. The instructions that come w/ the AUX-NISS show you exactly what to do. It's a piece of cake. You can get it from www.discountcarstereo.com or Log Jam Electronics (search).

Look at the pictures at the link I posted above. It shows everything there. The directions also help some from the PAC AAI-NIS. Just connect the harness's. When I did mine, I taped off the extra wires. It works fine.

Thanks guys. One PAC AAI-NIS2 on the way! I think I may go with the Blitzsafe UUI in addition so that I get output from the dock connector and can charge the iPod at the same time. One last question... I guess technically I'll have a free input remaining on the aai-nis2 module, but I can't plug the existing xm into there because there isn't a device to convert the existing SAT cable to rca outputs that would go into the aai-nis2?

Matt, can you explain or post a pic of the hookups for the factory sat unit? I've never seen it and I may be able to help if I know what we're dealing with. Actually...now that I think about it, it doesn't matter. You can't use that reciever b/c you'd have no way to control it. you need to buy an aftermarket xm reciever and have your subscription transferred. Then hook up the new reciever via the rca's provided.
