Default 7" screen in an 06

Hey I'm new to these forums. Just got a new 2006 Z Enthusiast in Magnetic Black.

Anyway, our Nav space (for those with no NAv unit...) has a lid that doesn't seem the same. It looks like ours just flips up as opposed to sliding back into the dash.

Would it be possible to integrate a monitor into this lid itself. Then if you needed to lift it up you could. Though I guess I don't know why you'd need to do that....

Still... just a thought.

I think the 06 NAVI design does not have a door anymore. Not sure if you can just remove the door or need a new console.

I have my screen installed on the lid (but my car isn't MY06):

Nice. But I was thinking more like molded into the lid. It'd be too easy (provided I could get the lid off/on). Though I don't think I'd do it as I don't want to have to repaint the piece to try to match the stock interior.

The 06 NAV does not have a door. And it's got this weird bump right above the screen (to mask it from the sun probably).

Yeah I just picked up my 2006 Z today. (awesome by the way) But yeah that sounds more like what I'm looking for. Keep me up to date on puting the 03 pocket on there. If it works I'll definetly do the same. I've actually got a couple of those farenheit 7" monitors lying around here so that'd be too easy.

Anyone know where I could get an 03 NAV pocket?

Why not just buy the dash piece for the 06 with nav and add your own screen to it??

I'll trade you my motorized door, for your door + an even swap of tailights,

I'll pay shipping both ways, lemme know!
