Default 1000 spending limit (maybe more)

Heres what im wanting, nothing TOO out there pretty stealth if I can really.

Im looking at the JL w7s 10s, and Im thinking about buying 2 of them.

Alright now what I never understand, amps/right boxes/wires.... etc, unload what i need to buy kinda like a shopping list and give prices to see if it exceeds my limit (most likely install myself w/an audio friend of mine)

The JL 10W7 has a pretty high Qts so you're going to need a huge 3.5 cu.ft. box to get to 0.707 Qtc. With a more normal sized 0.75 cu.ft. box you'll lose a bit of low end and have a bit of a hump (gain) at 80 Hz using those speakers.

Look for an amplifier around 300 watts, more if you want to crank those things up. Unless you're sold on those speakers I would look at the JL 10W6V2 which were about $300 each - the 7Ws were $400 each when I shopped for them last year. A Zenclosure is about the least expensive box out there at $99. Figure $330 for a JL 1/300 amplifier and another $100 for wire, distribution, fusing and possibly a cap.

JL 10W7 Speakers = $800
Zenclosure = $100
JL 1/300 Amplifier = $330
Wire etc = $100

$1330 ($1130 with the W6V2 speakers)

The strut dual sub looks great... Unfortunately it does not meet JL's spec volume. The single under strut enclosure is ~0.65cf. So the net volume is lower, deducting for subs' displacement and the dual sub acoustic separation wall. The two powerful JL subs (W6/7) mentioned need a net volume of 1.25-2.5cf to reach their SPL potential. The W7 weight (30#) is 2x W6's and will require kludging spacers to fit the strut box. If you want the dually sound you need to match it with a bigger box, and more power. The optimal Z config is one W6.

That vinyl looks very nice. It appears your box extends past the strut? What is your enclosure's net displacement? I decided not to trade the convenient large duffle bag (A<>Strut) space for 1KW subs. But if one doesn't need storage the custom box options are impressive. Although your setup breaks Daytona350Texas' budget goals.

Yea its custom 10w7 box that exends past the bar, and my friends at Bad Boy Bass make them, $189 for that box. But if he wants 2 10w7 a good amp box + wires you need more then 1G.

i just bought 2 JL 10w6v2's and 2 JL 500/1 amps in a Zenclosure dual 10" with the amp rack (which allots for twin 0.67 chambers)...you think i won't need the 2nd amp and just run both subs on the single 500/1?

The JL500.1 amps are stable to 1.5ohm (wire the 2 W6 for 4ohms). Listen to them first with just one amp. It should sound incredible in the Z. Enjoy!
