Install costs / DIY
I have the following on the way to avoid the Bose nightmare:
JL 10" Sub (Fits in stock area)
Rockford Fosgate Punch 700X Multi-Channel Amplifier
Infinity KAPPA 60.5CS 6.5" 2-Way Component System
Pyle PLDS5 Power Distribution Block (future addons)
Alpine TME760
Alpine 852a DVD Nav System
I want to replace the fronts witht he Infinitys, replace the Sub with the JL - and dynomat the enclosure.
I will bridge the 700X to power the sub and leave the rears disconnected (or removed)
The 760 will be installed in the stock nav screen location, which requires 1/4 inch to be trimmed both sides.
The 852 will most likely be mounted underneath the passenger seat or under the "glove box"
What should this install run me? With a service manual, should I try some of it myself?

Definitely have a pro take care of speaker install, less headache on your part if something goes wrong, they will cover any charges for damage they make. I am just doing a simple screen and dvd player add-on with an fm modulator so i am doing the install myself, but you have a lot of actual work that would require more time and effort than its worth to do yourself, just save the trouble and let someone else get their hands dirty. Install for the components you mention should be around a couple hundred dollars. Usually figure about 70 dollars an hour for installation (rough general cost). And guesstimate how much time it would take you to do, then compare to what a pro would charge for the install. (most give free estimates) If your cost is close enough to theirs, just let them do it right.
