Question Ipod Audio

Alright.. so I just bought a new '06 350Z Enthusiast and I come to find out it does not come with or compatible with an Ipod adapter. My Ipod is everything... so I know I need to get a new audio deck. Are there any suggestions? Type/model? Let me know and any help is appreciated!

Alpine just released a headunit, cda 9856 that has a real time connection to the ipod. All you need to connect the ipod to the deck is a $30 cable. It is supposed to be faster than the additional $100 interface from last years models. If you want to see it check out crutchfield or it is in the stores at Best Buy.

I have an Pioneer HU, and connect the Ipod thru a Pioneer connector ($35 in crutchfield) that goes into the CD changer input in the back of the HU. Downside: I control the music on the IPOD not on the HU. Upside: sounds much better than a crappy FM transmitter.

What about using the cd-changer input on the back of the stock HU?

this is your best option. the 9856 is a descent model but if you want the top of the line alpine (retail $400, probably on net for $300) i would go with the 9857. its suppose to be out in march and it has more features as well and a bigger display and better readout. i have yet to see one in person. good luck.

soundgate aux-niss converts cd changer input plug (12 pin) on the back of the head to an aux. input. this works on 03-05, but I can't confirm on 06 b/c I haven't seen the back of the head unit.

Not that I know of. I imagine it has it, but can't be sure until someone pulls their head unit out.

its basically the same radio with a slightly different face. I sure hope it has the same inputs. I ordered my car with satellite radio...then called and canceld it and ordered the same one without satellite, for this specific reason...to install the ipod, and probably the farenheit LCD in the cubby. This will work right? Im getting an 06 touring. The aux-nis will allow me to hook up both of these right?
