If you are running a 2ohm load on the amp then it will push 400w. 210 @ 4 ohms. If you are running 1 sub then make sure it's 2ohm to get 400w out of the amp.

i think that may be out of his price range, he specified in another post that he wanted something below 400 if i am not wrong?

in a car like the Z, 3-400 watts wto a single or dual 10s will be more than enough...i have a big wagon, and with only 190 watts going to my sub, and people have heard my car all can verify how loud it can get...with 3-400 watts and double the subs, in a much smaller hatch, it will be 2-3 times as loud easy...

i always tell people that unless they are going for SPL comps, doint put so much emphasis on wattage, i would rather see people put more power to the front spekares than neccessarily the sub

I did not see the other post, But if Funds are limited check out the JL e6450 which can be had for under $400
Also don't pay too much attention to e6450 ratings, This amp is very underrated.

I've been using the Crossfire VR705D for about a year now & I have absolutlely no complaints. Not the most well-known brand, but from everything I have been told & experienced, they are very solid.

i originally bought an Infinity 5761a 6-channel amp because i was on a budget...i learned rather quickly that you get what you pay for...you honestly can't go wrong with JL...now i have a JL 500/1 and a JL 300/4 and no complaints...do it right the first time, don't buy cheap stuff then regret it later on

Then you got rid of the JLs and went with three Zappo Competition C2K-4KW amps later for 12,000 watts worth of power?

If the guy's budget is only $400 that almost buys the 500/1 amplifier. He'll need that again for the 300/4 four channel amplifier too.

thanks guys... i did look at the Jl but it has worse stats than the kicker... the thing with the kicker is its 2 amps in 1..... So mono D class amp there and a 4 way amp

I really dont want to run another amp wire through my car... and in all honesty I dont have the money =\

I have around 700 bucks

The kicker amp costs 360 new shipped
The Z-Enclosures costs 130 shipped
2 10inch Type R's (2 ohm) will cost me 99 each picked up from NY

For the JL 500/5 I thought i read that it isnt made of 2 amps... aka no mono amp for subs only... or maybe im confused

In all honesty 85watts *4 and 420watts for the 2 subs will prob be good enough.... and I thought Kicker was a respected company

sounds like you are pretty set on the kicker, so get it but remember one thing, amps are not just about stats, just like cars...quality goes beyond ratings...but the kicker amp is not a bad piece st all

thanks =P

See to me JL is just overkill IMO since I will never use the full potential of it. Kicker i heard alot of good stuff about it. Like i said, I heard its a repected company.

Before I do get anything I have to read up on installtion. I know I have RCA wires set up and a few speaker wires.. i just dont which speakers are were amp'd before (previous owner had a setup) Is there a way to check? also 4 speakers... 2 wires each... then that should be 8 speaker wires I should find correct? ugh i wish there was a site that would explain what everything does. I have no clue what RCA wires do (i have 3 pairs of them in the trunk), no clue how to set this up lol

naw, it's not about wattage as most companies overrate their products while JL's are usually underrated...and i'm not telling him to go JL at all, all i'm saying is i was in the exact same boat as him as i wanted to save space and money so i bought a 6-channel amp...in the end, however, i wasn't happy...so i had to buy all new equipment and sell off the ones i didn't like which ended up costing me a LOT more than i expected...if i had gone straight to the tried and true products, i would have spent just a little more than what i wanted but i would've been happy as opposed to spending a LOT more than expected just to be happy

but at least i've learned a valuable lesson through it all and personally i'm never steering away from JL when it comes to amps and subs...sure you're going to pay more, but at least i KNOW what i'm getting
