Default "Secure" Monitor/HU Recommendation?

I am looking to put in a dvd/navi setup into my Z... and I am a little ignorant when it comes to a/v stuff.

The unit I am most impressed with, and which happens to also be a popular choice on the boards, is the Kenwood 7017, or preferably the 6019 when that debuts to take its place.

My only concern is that I street park the vehicle and so safety and theft is an issue.

I am wondering if the Kenwood has either a retractable or removable face and if does not, as I am led to believe, can anyone recommend a quality touchscreen monitor dvd/navi/mp3 unit with either a retractable or removable face?

If not, does anyone know how costly or even possible it would be to utilize the '06 navi door to install a unit in that hole with the lid still safely able to close? If so would the 7017 fit in that ?

I appreciate any and all input.

Nearly the same question.

The Pioneer AVIC N2 has a fold out screen and a detachable face plate. Once someone breaks into your car they're going to screw the dash up anyways trying to pry whatever is in there out. The best advice I can give you is to remain low keyed and not drive down the road with your music blasting out "steal me" prior to parking it. When I'm on the road I'll enjoy my music but once I get within a couple city blocks of my home I crank that thing down. Most break-ins are done by 12-16 year old kids right from your own neighborhood.

At work I park inside a fenced, gated, armed guard patroled compound with security cameras.

Paul,

I appreciate your response. I agree that the best anti-theft is not showing off your whip in your own neighborhood, stay low key.

As for the HU that u recommend, the Pioneer AVIC N2, based on the thread you linked to... does this unit not play dvds? You have to install a separate dvd player and monitor for that purpose?
