Not much improvement...
Alot of people have experimented with changing out the factory Blose sub with an JL IB series, or a few other freeair model subs, and it still sounds crappy. You really need to seal up that space and use a quality non freeair driver or put something in the hatch if you want quality sub-bass...I realize that this is the simplest solution, but to me, its not worth doing for a very marginal improvement.
