Default What do you guys think of this 8 inch coaxial?

AKA synchonous, point source etc....

Can it fit with some work? $300 is my limit for front speakers because I'm a cheap bastard. I don't see the mounting depth anywhere.

This is the famous 8" version of our award winning Synchronous speakers!

Don't let the size fool you-this is a full range driver, not a mid-bass or subwoofer.

The tonal capabilities of this driver are extensive, creating much more lifelike reproduction of instruments that smaller drivers just are not capable of. The String Bass and Baritone Saxophone come to life, as do acoustic drums.

In the right application, synchronous mounting is far superior to that of traditional co-axials and components. Why? Placing the tweeter into the apex of the midrange cone physically aligns the voice coil of the tweeter with that of the midrange. This means that the frequencies from each of these 'separate' drivers reach your ears simultaneously, allowing your brain to accurately reassemble what the recording engineer intended.

For converting to traditional component style mounting, the tweeters include a full compliment of mounting hardware for surface, angle, and flush mounting. All three mounting options provide 'eyeball' swivel adjustment.

The included 12dB per-octave passive crossover network is designed for low-loss and flat response.

Over the years, previous versions of this driver held numerous Sound Quality Championships in both IASCA and USACi. This iteration represents the best of everything that has been learned from those experiences, bringing you the best synchronous speaker on the market today.

i have used it decent stuff...strong midbass and good overall performance...but what is lacking for me, and this is perhas true to all 8" coaxials (more included), is that the midrange isnt as clear as it can be, mainly due to the big mid...tarde off midbass for midrange...

as for mounting depth, i cant remember but its not shallow, a little below 3" if i remember...its been a while...

are you going to mount that into hte door? firstly, ntos rue fif it will fit, second, its gonna buzz the hell out of your door panel...

i still say stick with a 6.5" comp set...there are plenty of good ones for 300...
