need help on capacitor

Default need help on capacitor

I'm new to the audio scene and I just upgraded the audio system on my Z. the problem I'm having is the capacitor digital voltmeter and LED won't lit up. I charge the capacitor with the resistor that came with it. but even on charging it. the lights won't lit up. What elese do I need to do the have the digital voltmeter lit up? thanks in advance for the help

if it won't light up and it's wired right... it's broken... get it replaced...

just make sure you wired it up right...

do you have a good ground connection? Did you measure the voltage at the connection to the cap?

yes I do have a good ground connection. don't have a tester is there another way to charge it and tell if it's fully charge? does it lit up when it's charge?

be very careful handling a charged capacitor.. you could get into big trouble if you short it...

how did you charge your capacitor... my understanding is that the digital readout should light up even when you're charging it....
if you connect it to 12 volts before it's charged... it could be permanently damaged...

spend 15 bucks and buy a digital volt meter at Home depot or walmart
