i am trying to hard wire my passport 8500. And i am using a telephone cord. there are 4 wires a red, a green, a yellow and a black one. which one is the power and the ground???? thanks guys.

have you tried red as power and black as ground? that'd be my first guess, but might not necessarily be that simple i guess.

black is probably ground and red is probably negative

ground and negative are the same thing. i think you mean red-positive.i wouldnt use telephone wire as it is very thin gauge wire and you probably wont get good power. if youre on a budget youll get better voltage using speaker wire.black-negative or ground/red-positive. good luck

thanks for the responses. i finished the installation. the 2 center wires are the live ones. the yellow and the red.
