that makes sense, but why do some people invert their subs? (please excuse my audio ignorance) i thought of this idea seeing other peoples setups, and thought a single sub would look better inverted.

Gotcha
i was thinking the sub could go in the spare tire well, but that seems to lose a lot of space, less then if under strut or b/w rear speakers and the strut..... i dunno, i gotta figure this 1 sub thing out; see with 2 W6v2's, at least their placement is easy....
