You can tap power from one of the radio power leads, use the switched lead so it opens and closes with the ignition. You can find the wire colors here for everything but radios:
www.bulldogsecurity.com
There should not be a heavy current draw to open a cubby door so you should be OK This is probably the only ignition switched power lead in that area of the dash.
Also you mentioned four wires, is there a diagram to tell you what those need to be connected to? I would assume one is for + and one for - but the other two .....???

ok there are 4 wires on a relay type board. i believe 2 power wires? (posible one to open and close from the ignition and the other to open and close on the button?)
and then 2 grounds i guess?
only thing is they plug into 2 differant spots on that board and then there is a female plug that is very narrow and small on the other end of the board that im guessing a harness would plug into ... i dont have that wire harness since its not a nav equipped car. i was hoping someone had actually done this conversion so that i could get some guidance on how it was done....
thanks for your help. it gives me a starting place.....
anyone else ever done this?

If you Z did not come prewired for NAV, will need a few other components in addition to the lid to make the motorized function work:
1) Motorized Cluster Lid Amp - 24898-CD010
2) Also you will need a special circuit built in order for the lid to open and close automatically. Someone one the forum named BPL has done it.
Here is LINK to that thread. Read the end of the first page and the 2nd page.
