Pioneer DEH-P5800MP. Anyone running it?
My non-Bose stereo died this past weekend. It is no longer playing CDs so, rather than messing with trying to get it fixed I decided to just replace it. I am looking at the Pioneer DEH-P5800MP head unit but, I don't see anyone talking about it. Anyone here running it?
I am also thinking about adding a 4 channel amp to run the rear and door speakers and adding a sub run by a mono amp. The amps that I am looking at Profile amps? Anyone have any comments on them as well?
Here are the links:

Instead of getting the Pioneer 5800MP for $200 why not go to a Tweeter store where it's IN STOCK for 10$ more with a 2 year warrenty out of the box since it's a Premier unit

The Crutchfield store up the road from me has several in stock (as of yesterday afternoon) so, getting one is not a problem. BTW, what is a "tweeter" store?

Pioneer DEH-P6800MP is what I have and I like it alot. Has controls for Ipod, XM and subwoofer. I decided on it for future expansion of the above items. I will be ordering my XM kit in the next couple of weeks. The blue does not match the rest of the interior lighting but I like the way it looks. It was a very easy install. Let me know if you have any questions.

Are you using it with the stock speakers? How does it sound compared to the stock unit? Crutchfield is having their big show and sale this weekend so I may pick it up.

Tweeter Etc? They dont have those in Virginia? I only suggested it cuz it's a $10 difference for a second year of warrenty out of the box cuz it's a Premier, plus i think the Premier version has a couple of different displays that set it apart from it's Pioneer counterpart

from what i understand the 580 is the premier version, the 5800 is the regular, i'm not sure. but i had the 5800, its a really good radio, it sounded good and had a really simple interface, i personally had it for a month or two, it was easy to used and the reason why i got it over the 6800 or others is that, its pretty much got the same basic features except for a few more fancy doodads, i liked it a lot, but i got an insanely good deal on a Avic-n1 so i jumped on it
i'm running eclipse speakers (40rms x 4) front and back, and an MTX 4ch. amp (75rms) and a MTX 2 ch. (500rms x 1) amp to my sub
sounded great
i got mine not long ago at etronics.com for 153 it was a local store so i thought i got a good deal on it
