Hello everyone,
I just recently purchased my 2003 Z and I did not get any keyless entry remotes with my car. Fortunately my wife has a 2004 G35 coupe and she had both remotes from her car in working condition. I took one of her remotes and programed it to my car and it works great. To my suprise it also still works her car as well. Just wanted to let some of you out there know this in case you have two Nissan cars as well. It will be convenient carrying just one remote for to cars. Sorry if this is a repost on here, but I searched for it and did not see anyone else that had posted it before.

Interesting because I thought Nissan had to program the key to open the doors. How do you put the car's remote receiver into the code matching mode? If it was the other way around - where the key was put into the code matching from the car then you wouldn't be able to open two different cars with the same remote.

My wifes remotes were already programed from the factory, we bought her car off the lot new. So all I did was take her second remote, which was already programed for the G35 and programed it for my 350z using the following programing method:
with the car turned off,
1 open the drivers door and then close it
2-insert the key into the iginiton cyclinder 6 times
3-the hazards will flash
4-turn the key to the on position and press any button on the keyless
entry remote
5-the hazards will flash again
6-turn the key off and open the door
This programed the remote for my car, and still worked my wifes G35 as well. The only problem with it is now whenever I go to the garage to get something out of one of the trunks, they both pop. It works thought try it if you have two nissans at the house.

I have read about that remote programming method before, sometime in recent past, but cannot remember when or where! Owner's manual, may be
Thanks a bunch for posting this! Many of us do not like our remote fobs and this would a great option. You are the first I have heard of to have tried this. That entitles you to my Newbie of the Week award

Thanks for the award, I went to the dealer today and asked them about the remotes working on both cars and they told me that you could program a keyless remote for more than one Nissan car. Waiting for someone else to post that they have tried it as well.

The way it works is you're adding the remote's ID into the car's memory. Hence when he added the remote to his Z it still worked on the G. The key however should be a different method due to the chip inside.
