Default Head unit and DVD player PLEASE HELP

This might be a dumb question but I dont know that much about this stuff. I have a pioneer DEH-P80MP head unit. I am buying a farenheit screen for my cubby and my HU dosnt play dvd's. So now I am buying a seperate dvd player to hook up to the screen. My question is, can I hook up the screen to a dvd player and how would I connect the speaker wire to that unit. Do I have to split them from where they are running into my pioneer cd player. I am very confused if someone could help me out. My pioneer unit manual says "you can use this unit to control a dvd player which is sold seperatly"
Basically I have a head unit that plays cd's I want to put in a screen and be able to have it play dvd's from a seperate unit. Thanks for the help

Default Get a new HU!

I think it will be cheaper, easier and cleaner if you get a HU with DVD-playback.

However if you still want to keep that unit, I'm sure it should have an Source DVD Control, and an Aux Audio input so you will connect the audio output of the DVD player to this Input and get all audio on your speakers.

It should be an easy connection.

Good luck

Thanks for the help. I dont wanna get rid of my HU cause I just got it so I think I will buy the JVC KD-DV6200. My next question is, I want to have the JVC KD-DV6200 put in right under my pioneer HU is there a mounting kit that I can get that can fit both. Thanks again

i know it plays cd also but it plays dvd, vcd, and divx videos. Can anyone tell me how i would hook the jvc dvd player up to my pioneer headunit. Pioneer manual sayd that I can use the unit to control a dvd player. Would I just buy and audio video cable and plug it in the AUX from my pioneer to the back of the JVC. Thanks for the help details with parts needed would be helpful.

you can use the pioneer xdv-p6 and it will connect directly to your head unit through the cd changer cable, or you could use a fm modulator on the jvc piece. sound will probably not be that good with the fm mod.

Thank you very much for the help. Do you know if I would be able to use the Alpine DVA5210 by connecting it to my pioneer cd player, or would I have to use a fm mod. I saw somone else on the board with that dvd unit and a seperate cd player. Thanks again for the help.
