Default suggestion for running spkr wire to doors

There are some great how to's on this site and they've really helped me with my audio install. I did notice one thing I thought I'd add.
If you don't want to drill the stock plastic harness that attaches to the body you can use the hole with grommet that's slightly below that stock harness.
It's just big enough for one or two 14-16 gauge wires to run through. You can cut out the center of the grommet so your wires aren't touching the metal.
My wife actually noticed this hole when helping me the other day. I just installed stuff in her Murano a few weeks ago and it has a similar hole that I used to run the wire.
To get the wire into the door you could make an incision in the rubber boot near the door and poke it through.

Hope this tip helps.

I ended up drilling a new hole on the driver's side, then installing a new rubber gromet to prevent abrasion to the new speaker wires. It's alittle more than most would perfer to do, but it works real nice having a dedicated passage way for aftermarket wiring.

I almost gave up getting the pieces to line up after drilling and running the wires...it took damn near thirty minutes to finally get everything to click into place. Will try your suggestion on the passenger side Monday.

The driver's side was a biatch to get the wire to the hole. The fuse box and other crap is right there and it's hard to fish the wire. My wife helped me, she has a lot more patience with stuff like that. We used a fish tape and pushed that inside the car through the hole in the door jamb. Once we got that into the cabin I attached the wires and pulled them throught the hole. Then I just cut a slit in the boot at the door and ran the wires into the door. The passenger side was a lot easier because there isn't as much stuff blocking the hole on the inside of the car.
It's really hard to take pictures of, you can't see the hole unless you're right there. It's basically a little black grommet that's slightly below and closer to you than the stock "box" thingy.
I almost missed the grommet at first because I thought it was like a door pin sensor or something. But it pops right out, just a dime sized rubber piece.

This is why I opted to use the factory wiring to get in the door. But since I'm upgrading from Phoenix Gold 6.5 speakers in the doors to a pair of CDTAudio Eurosport 6.5's with wickedcas's door pods (Thanks Nazar!) I guess it's time to venture down this road. I will take many photos to be posted.
