aftermarket sub in stock location
has anyone tried to put a aftermarket sub in the stock bose location?? i am currently trying to do this without putting a box and that little cubby and trying to make a mount for the new sub. if anyone has any suggestions or has done this already let me kno for ideas. thanxzzzzzzzz
It's been done. I know a guy put a JL Audio marine sub there. I was looking at it seriously before I got the Stealthbox. There's several cubic feet of space in that "enclosure" and it would be extremely difficult to seal off a section to create an appropriate size enclosure. There shouldn't be any rattling problems. I personally don't like infinite enclosure subs. They lack punch. I also thought about building an enclosure inside that space, like building a ship in a bottle. I would recommend you listen to a free air (infinite)sub before you buy one. If you want to buy a JL Audio Stealthbox and JL 500.1 amp for $850, PM me.
I'm selling mine because I'm going to go with 2 6.5 subs in the factory rear speaker locations. (A sacrifice for racing).
