When I was at CES this year they had some LCD TVs like that. They had one TV with two movie feeds going into it were you saw a different movie playing depending on the agle you were looking at the TV from. They had another that was an in dash TV that had a NAV screen if you looked at it from one side then a movie playing if you looked at it from the other side.

Regardless, we have already discussed Japan's navi advantage in other threads.
They simply have ~1% of the area we do that needs mapping, along with the desire and monetary contribution (both gov't and corporate) to make advanced products such as this.
I'd love to see a Japanese man flying around in his car .... wait .. all I have to do is go to the 405 and watch ... crazy fob drivers

Funny how the people they use in their advertisement are all American looking...you got a couple of white ppl and 1 black person...very PC~ they should use cute japanese girls...(i think every commercial should have at least 1 cute japanese girl...just my opinion tho~)

It's not coming here anytime soon. I've been in Pioneer's meetings discussing this (I used to work there). It will take 5+ years to map the US with the level of detail they are using there. Again, they have 1% of the land area to map that we do.
