I found this article by Edmunds that identifies the top ten sounds systems in cars over $30000. 5 of the ten top systems were Bose!! What happened with the Z? I have one of the early Bose systems in my car and it truely is not very good. Yes, there is a recall, I'm having a hard time leaving my car with those monkeys for day to fix the problem.

Back to the point, what happened with the Bose quality in the Z? Did Nissan "Cheap out" and buy a cheap system trying to keep costs down? I have talked to folks who have had their system updated by Nissan, who are still unhappy with the results. Why is the system very good in the Mercedes and so crappy in the Z?

Dear god that list is horrible. They definitely missed some other 'factory installed' stereos that I'd have on my list.

 

sorry, all bose factory systems suck.

They sound horrible and make it extremely difficult to replace anything of the components.

 

I have not noticed a problem with the Z's bose, or a problem with the bose in my g35 or my FX45 which all have the bose option and all sound GREAT!

 

What is your reference point for "sounds great", a sony walkman or a harman kardon surround sound setup?
