I went to my dealership to get its first oil change (thank goodness it all went well, I've heard alot of horror stories so I was getting paranoid). But anyway when I was waiting there I noticed the 07 Versa was already there, I guess it was a demo car? But it might be on sale already. I noticed on the flyer that it's going to have the Intelligent key like the Infiniti G35C has now. I thought to myself that's awesome I'm sure someone around here's gonna be able rig it up for the 350's.

I know there was a thread in the past about the possibly getting the Infiniti IK riggable to our cars but that seemed to die.

Anyone else think it will be possible?

The intellikey consists of several differnt receivers located throughout the car. Rigging it up will be a chore, to say the least. You have to mount several receivers throughout the car so that the system always knows where the key is. If the key is near the hatch, it will allow trunk pop, if it's near the door, it will unlock, if it's near the ignition it will allow the car to start, and etc.

Then, after you get the sensors set up you will still have to interface all the above functions in to the existing electronics in the car. It won't be impossible, but it will be a HUGE job, to say the least.

 

People are just to freakin lazy to pull the keys out of their pockets these days :-\
