The alpine unit will not do genre, which really bugged me for awhile. Basically I changed all my album titles to the genre to get around it. The other issue is that once you make a selection you can't "back up" to the previous menu, you have to start over. I personally preferred the Clarion interface which was much more similiar to the actual ipod navigation. However, I will say that I prefer the look and quality of the Alpine enough where I adapted to it rather than getting the Clarion. However, the Clarion can be found online for $700 if that sways you at all.

Has anyone heard when the Clarion max675vd double DIN is coming out again and what the price will be? I've heard from some guy that it came out and had alot of problems with the unit they pulled it off the line until it was fixed. Price he heard was $1000. And I guess the iPod interface mimics the actual clickwheel from your iPod which is sweet! If this is the case, I'm definately waiting for it...

It seems that unit doesn't even have an iPod interface, which is what I'm really looking for.
