Question alarm

so i've had my 04 enthusiast a week, previous owner never mentioned anything about an alarm, but as i was walkin outta my garage, the horn started blarin, lights went-a-flashin????????

do all enthusiasts have an alarm. did i accidentally activate it....and how?

I just hit the unlock button and it unlocked.

i read the manual when i bought it,but it said there would be a light under the windshield by the vin # if the car has an alarm. but theres a plug there so i figured no?

All of the Z's came with it. You should see a red light stay lit for about 30 seconds once you arm the car (press the lock button on the remote. hazards flash and horn chirps once). The light should then blink after 30 seconds passes, this indicates that the car is armed. You can set the alarm off by doing one of 2 things:

1. Press and hold the panic button on the key fob
2. Have the window rolled down, arm the alarm by using the remote to lock the doors, wait 30 seconds (light will begin flashing) and reach in to manually unlock the door and open it. The alarm should then start going off.

Unless he added an aftermarket alarm, all you would have is the standard vehicle Security System and the Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System (NVIS).

You might have set it off accidently by holding down the red button on the keyfob. I've done that by accident a few times while holding my key in the same hand with other stuff.

Me too ... always at 5:00 AM something on the way to work ... in the garage right below my sleeping bride.
