Homelink Question
Has anyone tried to program a homelink button to pop the hatchback like the remote does?
I know it is a dumb question but I have a legit reason for asking. I am handicap and sometimes people that ride with me have trouble finding the button to pop it from the outside. They have to pop it to get my wheelchair out. I guess it is a mute point since you cannot leave the car running and pop the hatch anyways. But I was just curious. It could be handy to also maybe program your other vehicle if you have one. So that you can unlock the car if you forgot something in it and didn't want to go back in to get the keys.
I may try this if I get a chance. If no one else has an answer.

No offense, but I'm curious to ask. Are you exclusive to a wheelchair? Are certain portions of your body paralyzed?

You know, it would probably not be too hard to wire in a push button up by the dash. A direct feed to the trunk latch's actuator would allow you to open it via the push button.
Just came back from your web site. An amazing story. I admire your courage in the face of such over whelming challenges.
I would think that hard wiring the switch would just be too simple. On the 350Z there's a pushbutton under that rubber cover above the license plate. It would be easy enough to latch into that push button and snake a wire though the rear of the car to a mounting location on the dash or center console.
I've never tried my fob's trunk open button but if it doesn't work while the car's running just shut it off and pop the hatch for the inside.

Yeah, a hard wired switch would be easy but cliping the wire that tells the alarm that the car was running would be much easier. I don't want to turn off the car and let it get heated up. It is freaking hot in Texas!..lol
