Default Just got an 05 touring - Have question about sub

sweet as hell i love this car it drives so smooth and its got great pick up. I'm a dealer so im used to buying rebuilt vehicles i bought a 2005 touring auto with only 7,000 miles on it, it was hit on the drivers door and everything was replaced and fixed perfectly (except the little thing that holds my sub cover down). And i couldnt be more happy with it especially at that price. Heres some pics. I look forward to modding it im currently planning on buying a engine start/alarm and clearing all the orange off of the front of the car. Any advice or tricks would be helpful. THANKS and im happy to be joining your community.

My roomates eclipse on the left my Z on the Right ( my roomate behind my Z )

Also how much does the stock amp power because im about to put a new sub in tonight i think the sub has 400 rms and 800 max will the stock amp power this properly? And also do you guys recommend putting a monitor in the cubby or just getting a flip out monitor dvd/cd/am/fm and switching out the 6 cd changer? lastly is it normal for there to a lot of ratteling around the storage compartments when the sub is hitting harder?

Thanks for all your help ( I posted this up in the new owner section too but thought you guys would answer my question about the sub quicker)

Hey welcome to the Z community! I have an 05 touring AT too, sorry I don't know much about the sub tho...you should do a search, and if nothing then maybe post in the Audio forum.

Far as I know the Bose Amp only works with Bose speakers, I could be wrong but I would definalty post a thread in the Audio Section, might get more responses

Good Luck...

Stock amp won't power your sub well, if at all. Just spring for an aftermarket amp.

Definitely get the money you saved on the car and put it into a decent stereo. General consensus is, that ALL components of the Bose stereo are crap and should be replaced.

Most of these types of questions can be answered on the Nissan homepage.

http://www.nissanusa.com/z/specifications_coupe.html

Look under "Audio". And you don't even need to do a "search"! But be sure to click on "Display All".

Thanks I put the sub in and the stock amp powered it fine it sounds much better then the stock sub but not nearly as good as it can sound so in a few weeks ill be getting an aftermarket amp. I was wondering though if you could tell me where the stock amp was located any help would be great thanks. Also is the stock amp able to power at 1 ohms or will i blow the amp if i try that i have it set for 2 ohms right now.

There are two Bose Amplifiers. The Bose sub amp is really small (4"X4" X 1") and it is inside the subwoofer cubby. The other main amp is in the spare tire compartment and it is bolted to a bracket that is bolted to the floor next to the spare tire.
