I am looking at getting my Stereo installed soon. Just got my Kenwood DDX6019, DD Finisher, AC controls and now I am on the search for Subs / Speakers / AMP's
I am looking at 2 of these for subs (below)
http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/product...odel=SWX-1042D
I am looking at these speakers Front and back (below)
http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/product...model=SPX-177R
And 2 of these amps (below)
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=252
Or would there be any benifit with my set up to get one of these JL 1000/1 (below) and one JL 500/1 (above)
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=221
Thank you very much for taking the time to look at this set up! I do not know to much about audio and would really appreciate the help
Thanks again!!

Heres what My thoughts are.
Youve got the wrong sub and amp combo going.
The Alpine type X is 1000RMS / 3000W Max
The JL 500/1 is 500RMS and probably somewhere in the ballpark of 1000-1200 max.
So pretty much your pushing that sub only to half of its capabilities. Most people think you can only blow a sub if you overpower it. Underpowering a sub can be just as bad or more.
If your bent on those brands here are my suggestions.
1 JL 1000/1 to each Type X
OR
Step down the subs to Alpine Type-R's which are like 500RMS 1500 Max, and run 1 500/1 to each, or just one 1000/1.
What kind of setup are you going for. Might be able to help out a little more with sub/amp choice if we all know your goals. Headthumping, make you cough every time is hits kinds of bass? More for sound quality? Hope this helps out a little bit.

Ahhh, thank you!
You made it make sense to me... I am going for decent sound quality but also for show. I have HIN coming up Oct 14 and want to be prepared. Although I am not going to do a whole fiberglass set up and get all crazy like that... I am going to be a tad more subtle and stealthy but I want the quality to show thru... those 1000/1 are frickn expensive if I am gonna run 2... I might have to go with the type-R's then and the 500/1's ... and I really liked the look of those type-X's, (carbon fiber is my friend
)..
I have a Kenwood DDX 6019 I just got for my head unit and am trying to piece the rest of it together so I can order it, get it shipped and get it installed....
I am looking at getting 2 subs, 2 amps front and rear speakers, speakers for the trunk as well and a monitor for the trunk. I am also lookn at 7" monitors in my sunvisors.....
Thats about it I think.
Thanks again for your reply!

For the monitors, check this 16psiBrick's install
Check to the bottom of the thread. He can make you some!!!!
As far as the components you listed in your original post, are you stuck on only those brands?
If you really like the Type X (looks are great on it), there are more powerful amps. The JL 1000/1 will work. If I remember correctly, the 1000/1 is stable down to 1.5 ohms. The dual 4 ohm configuration of the Type X can be wired as a pair to show 4 ohm or 1 ohm very easily.
