Default "Service Engine Soon" light after AVN5435 installation

So my dad helped me install the Eclipse AVN5435 in my '03 this weekend, and after we got everything installed and turned the engine on I got a "Service Engine Soon" indicator (and each engine start afterwards so far). Everything seems to be working fine (AVN5435 included), could this have come up from disconnecting the battery multiple times or is it likely something more serious?

did you happen to disconnect the climate control white box and turn the ignition while it was disconnected? This is a common cause of SES light on stereo installs.. and reconnecting it doesn't make it go away.. it has to be reset..

I'm 99% sure this was done correctly, the speed pulse wire from the unit is spliced into the white wire in the middle connecter on the unified meter/AC unit, and the reverse wire is spliced into the light green wire in the harness inside the spare tire well.

Actually, I think we did this multiple times so that should explain the SES light. Thanks both of you for the replies.

Been asked many times. If you do some searching, you will probably find that this has happened to everyone that has installed an Eclipse system. It happened to me! Must have something to do with everything that is disconnected during the install. Give it 24-48 hours and it will probably go away on it's own.
