Default antenna amplifier lead

does anyone know which color wire in the stock premium sound system (touring model) connector harness that puts the antenna amplifier on?

it's the one that's joined to the antenna cable:

looks like it's green with white stripe

It should be a green wire with a yellow stripe according to the Factory service manual...if I remember correctly.

Keep in mind that this is tied into the ignition, and is not a turn on lead for the head unit. Its a constant 12v when the key is turned to acc whether the radio is on or not...a **** poor Clarion/Bose idea, if you ask me...so your amps will always be on when the key is on even if the radio is off, if you use this wire as your remote turn on lead. UGHH!

There are two seperate things here...

the green w/ white stripe is for the am/fm antenna amplifier
since it's such a small antenna

the green w/ yellow stripe is for the remote turn-on lead for the speaker amplifier.

Right?

Yep, my bad...sorry for the confusion. I realized that after I made the post...

According to the FSM:
green w/ white stripe is am/fm antenna amplifier
green w/ yellow stripe is remote turn-on lead

Sorry for the stupid post from earlier...

I just got done checking mine...yep, no power to the antenna amplifier module. THis module is located on the left wall of the hatch. it is mounted behind my sub enclosure, so I moved my sub box and probed the wires, which wasn't a major deal. I did have to remove a few panels to get to it.

Apparently, the wire harness I used did not make a connection to this lead, or I didn't connect it. So, to fix it, I happened to have a remote turn on lead in the hatch area that I ran there for future upgrades, and I tied into the power turn on lead for the antenna amp in the hatch instead of pulling my head unit again...

I don't listen to much radio, except for Howard Stern in the morning during my morning commute--I guess he will come in loud and clearer now... LOL!

Thanks for the info in this thread, I am sure it will be beneficial to others as well...

Do you know if you could hook up an FM modulator to the antennae from the back of the vehicle where the antennae is? Does it have a regulary anntenae connection there? Also, how do you get the panel and foam block out to get to the antennae?

Does anyone know if I could hook up an FM mudulater to the antennae itself at the back of the car instead of the back of the radio? Does the antennae unplug there? Also, how do you get to the antennae and foam block from the back of the car?
