Anyone here a fan of MB Quart?
I see a lot of posts discussing the KAPPA's for speakers, anyone here has MB Quarts in their Zs?
Is there an advantage of one vs the other, or just preference?
Thanks,
Miguel.

You can get the Quart PCE's for really cheap now. I seen them online for $225. I have them and they're decent. That is the only thing that I installed in my 350Z so I wouldnt be able to compare it to anything else. The stock speaker location sucks so any good speaker will sound decent, and any decent speaker will sound crappy. The PCE's sounded really good on the sound board if that helps.

I had a set of PCEs and wasn't too happy. Not much midbass and the metal tweets were too harsh for me.
But, I had one of their 12" subs in the back runnning frm a JL 500/1 and it sounded beautiful.

I'm looking at the PCE 216s.
Did you guys used these so called "Pods" or do they fit right where the factory speakers are?
I don't think I want to lose my cup holder
Thanks to Everyone for the feedback!
I'm just about to get my new 350Z this week and I have to say that I love this cummunity here. There is SO much information here!
Miguel.

They sound nice and make sure you give them the power they deserve or else the quarts won't shine.
I have a set of RCE216, it's the Reference line, a step down from everyone's PCE serious but regardless they sound nice when I power them up with 75 watts per channel, that's where they shine!

go to a shop that carries different components so you can hear for your self
what sounds great to one, may sound fair to another
you can send between $100 to $ 1000 for 1 set of components pick a budget , try to see who has the most selections in your budget in their sound room than go listen
most any component will sound better than stock
IMO
if you can ,get go for 1 set TYPE RF 6.5" component set , or if you can't ,go for a set of RF power series 6.5" component set
safest bet go listen to as much as you can

I've been very pleased with my lower priced DSC-216s. Only replaced the fronts and powered them with 100 watts of clean power from a USX-2100. It's been one of the best mods to my Z!
Here's a review I wrote a few years back:

The MB Quarts in my car sound very very nice. I have a pair of References in the rear and am running a pair of Q's in the front. All four powered by a Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.4 amp.

It would be better to listen to what people in your area got in their Z's. That will be of more use to you than speakers on a soundboard. There are speakers that may sound good on-axis, but terrible off-axis (what you will be listening to). But then again, the soundboard comparison will be better than choosing blind.

i originally bought JBL GTi's for my front components but they didnt fit in the doors
my installer recommended the MB Quarts, so i went top of the line Q-Line. I was a bit hesitant at first because the highs are very high pitched, but he said id grow to like them and i definitely have
watching DVD concerts in 5.1 i really enjoy the clarity of those high frequences
the Q-Lines are hand made with titanium dome tweeters and aluminuim baskets. So they did take a few weeks to bed in and really start producing some sweet sounds. The crossovers were so big i had to modify behind the door to actually fit them.
i ended up putting the JBL GTi's in the rear
