after sworing off eclipse for good years ago, i finally get to install one of their new nav units...and of course runs into an issue lol
i cant seem to find any menu to adjust the non-fading (subwoofer) output on the eclipse avn 5500? does it just not have this feature? i dont see it in the manual eithere...
if thats the case this is gotta be the dumbest thing ever...but i am hoping its not the case...
help an installer out please

I have a AVN 5500 and can't seem to find that function too.....
I even took it to a installer friend who says he didn't think that function is available.
The things I like about this unit, The pros:
Good navi
Sound quality is excellent.
Built-in 9 band EQ
The things I think should get improvement for the price (I paid $1850 for it) The cons:
*Only 6 preset FM and AM channels, really dumb for a unit costing this much.
*Can't seem to find non-fading
*Don't play WMA, while most $200 H/U can do that, my bad for not paying attention when I bought it.
*HD tuner cost $400+ for Eclipse while Kenwood and Pioneer are half that.
*I wanted something like the navtraffic but it's not XM compatible.
So there's my little review for the AVN5500, hopefully that helps in letting you decide which H/U to sell to your customers base on their needs. Overall, Eclipse don't have all the bells and whistle of Pioneers, but the sound quality and Navi is great.

this might be a dumb question but are there nonfader outputs on the back of the unit?
as I recall from my 5494...it is under one of the menus totally unrelated to audio settings.

well, with a help of an eclispe dealer i figured it out...
and his comments when i asked him the first time was "oh yeah...its the dumbest thing...."
lol
bascially, press INFO ont he right hand side, then press settings, and there is a menu bar called SUB CONT, it only ranges from 1 to 4!!!?!??!? meaning there are only FOUR STEPS OF ADJUSTING THE BASS!!
so its pretty useless IMO...and a bit retarded...
the manual makes no mention of this int he audio section...
