Bose Alternatives

Bose Alternatives
Is it possible to swap out the factory Bose sub with a different one with roughly the same power output. I just feel like the OEM bose sub doesnt hit low enough and starts to rattle. Ive herd that the whole Bose system is wired up specifically and if you replace it the factory amp wont handle or recognize anything else. Can someone just point me in a general direction of some alternatives, i dont really want to add an extra sub or replace the whole factory Bose system... just a little better quality base.

You'll need to find a free air 10" woofer if you're only going to replace the speaker element.
Most woofers are designed to be run in a tightly sealed box but the area behind the seats is nowhere even close to being sealed air tight. Some have tried to seal it but it's impossible. Some have built fiberglass boxes that fit in the hole with sucess. Some have slid amplifier/speaker combos like the Infinity Basslink in there.
