Remote Start for 350Z?
A/T - Great feature, not many problems if you get a good quality unit (I like any of Directed Electronics stuff www.directed.com)
M/T - Can be done using a unit MADE for M/T by following some precautionary steps. As stated before, Compustar makes on made for M/T and so does a company called Shelby........Here's a writeup of how to safely add a Shelby remote start to a M/T as well as the unit itself for sale:

I love it on my 6MT. I dont like driving my car right away in the cold. So i can look out the window and start the car and have it nice and warm before I get there and ready to drive. You do have to take precautions and if you dont must accept the consequences. Here is my car after a little remote start incident

Not sure what its like in the US but I know a lot of the UK cars have safety features on them for the remote start which prevent things like that happening.
To get the car to remote start you first have to prime the car by
Start as normal
Change to neutral/out of gear
Click remote start on remote
Remove key from car (Engine still runs)
Get out of car
Lock car
--Once you have locked the car it then turns the engine off. Now it knows that if you start the car unless there is someone locked inside to move the gear shift then it definatly is out of gear and will start without any problems
Then just click on the button to start.
You end up always using it when get out of the car and its much much safer than the systems without that sort of protection

Compustars are a very safe effective way of installing a remote start on a manual transmission vehicle. I am a compustar dealer and have installed many of these units on manuals, even have one on my manual 350z. If installed properly there is no issues. The compustar monitors door trigger, emergency break and foot break in such a sequence that it is just about impossible to leave the car in gear and be able to later remote start. Kind of a complicated set of logic but it works !!!
Anyone that installs a remote start not designed for a manual into a manual is just asking to have the car get smacked up and maybe run someone over walking by when car is started IMHO.
