ipod connection for nonstock head unit
hey fellas just wondering what type of i pod cord u guys using for the head unit?
i got pioneer avh 6500 and using the radio frequency type and not getting a good signal at times.anybody got this hard wired or adaptor?i dont have a tape player.(i know theres that type of adaptor also).
oh yeah if youhave a dvd player in your head unit can you play ipod video and make it come out on the screen?

yep. you could either do:
-headphone jack (Ipod) to RCA (HU)
-ipod connector (long slot connector on bottom of ipod) to RCA(HU)
*you won't be able to control the ipod through your HU, if you want to do that, you'll need special hardware.

if you have an auxillary in, that one would work too. Usuually aux in is powered, so you can charge ur ipod. If not, some kits come w/ a wire to charge it w/, and just connect it to a +12V constant power from the dash somewhere. With some newer HU, you NEED aux input to control the ipod from the HU.
