farenheit monitor and 06 cubby hole
can you install a 7" farenthiet monitor in the '06 cubby hole, or do you have to have the '03 lid cluster and matching finisher? what's the difference besides the way the door opens?

ok, i just looked on performancenissanparts.com's website and they have the 03 cluster lid listed as fitting in the 04-05, but it says on their site "This modification WILL NOT work on the 2006 models." So does anybody with an 06 have the 03 cluster? what's a boy to do?

so far i have taken the door completely off on my 06 cubby. I found this thread which describes how to dremel a little bit to get the screen to fit. in all honesty, i would be happy just buying a complete center dash assembly minue the three gauges. i wonder if that would work.
here's the thread: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....03+cubby+in+06

well, i guess i know what i have to save up for now. so this would be the perfect solution to our problem? I mean, you can manually open and close the door even though the car didn't come with the motorized door, essentially making this like the 2003 cubby?

Well ......now after reading the link that you posted MR_Drifter it's says it's a NO GO! That Courtesy Nissan lid DOESN'T FIT EITHER. Evobunny put it in and didn't put the motorized assembly in it because you need a brain or chip to tell the motor where to stop opening and closing the lid! But they are saying evobunnys has big gaps between the door and cubby!!!
So as of right now it looks like either do the stock cubby hole mod on that thread for the 06 or fabricate the whole assembly by trying to make the 03-05 cubby fit into the 06 and then re-skin the 03-05 door with the 06 door.
Dang! I think it will look sloppy tho! Don't want that!

i think i'm just going to modify the 06 without the door even attached and see how that looks. if it's really bad, i'll just put the door back on and be content with that.

hey guys sorry I havnt been on the site much to answer yall question. About the courtesy nissan lid, yes I know it cost alot of money. but I think its as clean as it going to get. I try my self to cut on my stock 06 lid and I couldnt get it as clean as this. and it couldnt really fit the 7inch screen. if you look in my first pic from the link above someone gave, the gap is not that big. I dont even notices it anymore. if it is really that big a problem to you, just go get some vinyl sticker and cover it. not big deal. it will still look much better then your cuts..

as for as price, yeah I know they are expensive, espcially when you cant use the botton to open the door. it shouldnt be hard to make a chip and program it to open and close. I just didnt feel like do that. I didnt feel a need to have it open and close all the time. just more wire and stuff to run. so it wasnt a big deal to me. Maybe some one should contact courtesy nissan to see if they would make it cheaper with out the motor and stuff. just the lid.
