Default Any ideas?

...on how to fix this crappy install? From a distance it looks good....

....but as you get closer....

It starts to look like azz...

It really isn't that noticeable but they did a horrile hack job on the door pannel and it really bugs the crap outta me. It was like this when I bought the car so I can't take it pack to the installer. I was thinking of some sort of molding but there is a gap that needs filled. I would take a better a better pic but my wife forgot the camera at her salon. Will take some more if anyone has some good ideas.

....the stereo sounds great and there is a small fortune worth of DynaMat in the car.

They used the 03-05 pods on a 06 door panel. There is no really good way a fixing it without spending alot cash.

If it were me I would do one of the following:

Make my own pods that are big enough to cover all the holes and get better surface angles and paint them Redline. It would be a project but if done right, it would look sweet.

Or

Take the vinyl off the pods, mask up the door panel, put the pods back on and build them up with FG and glaze to get them to the right shape and have them recovered (or painted if you want to spend the time getting them perfect).

Or

Take the car to a good interior shop and ask them if they can fix it up. Some of those guys can do wonders with materials.

Or

Hit the reset button and buy replacement panels from Nissan or racer who has stripped his out.

probably around 5-600 bucks honestly for a pair, that would included the molding, dampening of the inside of hte pod, and suedeing the wholet hing...

for reference, you can check out this post where i built a set of 8" pods for a customer

You could do it yourself, not sure what your skills are. But 16psibrick does do good work and is worth the money if your not creative.

if you are in a rush, one thing you can do is mail the door panels to me, and i will mold everything, finish the pod, and secure the pod to the door , and do some dampening, and mail it back, so all you have to do is turn around then place hte finished door panel back on the door and you are set thats how i worked it with brandon in that other post. of course, the cost will go up a bit due to the extra work but it does save you any headaches of putt things together.

as far as turn around time, if you catch me in a not so busy time, say in a week or two, i can get it all done in about 3-4 days ans send it back your way via 3 day shipping...

so depending on how fast you send it out to me, totoal turn around time for you would be about 10 days or so.

if you are interested, just send me a PM

no pressure at all, it just pains me to see such a nice set of psekares installed that way...
