well actually my problem is i took out my perfectly working bose headunit out of my '03.
sold it on ebay to a dude in kentucky.
he now says cd wont load and audio doesnt work. claims he paid to have it installed.
is there any reason why it would now suddenly not work. it came out of my car working 100%. i wanna help the guy out and all but not get screwed in the process.
looking for suggestions.

get a fed ex call tag spend the $10 to have the radio picked up and returned to you
tell him to pay to have the radio removed
refund his money when radio comes back
or tell him SOL
as i see it either he is telling the truth or lieing
if he is lieing your making him go thru hell for a refund
if he is telling the truth and it was not installer error than he deserves to get his money back
installer might have shorted something out but he would have to be a moron
he may just trying to return his radio that he reomoved to put yours
now if the installer did short it out they would never admit it
any choice you make will cost you
accept telling him the radio worked when it left and your SOL

yeah i agree... like if he truly deserves his money back i'm not the type of person to feel good about someone being let down and outta money.
but i know without a doubt that it worked great before i removed it just last month.
but the thought of someone trying to swap theres for mine crossed my mind, but i know my serial number and its quite low (my Z was out of the second batch to reach the states).
i'm asking him for some feedback about his vehicle... would there be a problem if
a) he had an 04 or later ?
or
b) he tried putting it in a non-bose Z?

one more question after doing a little random searching threads...
could jarring from shipping cause the cd to not load?
would that also have any affect on the FM radio not producing sound? (i know it sounds a little dumb but i'm trying to cover all bases)

radios are shipped all the if u packed well it should not be an issue getting bumped a bit
it aint a pretty situation
tell him to pay to remove the unit you sold him and to keep him honest tell him to read you the serial # off it
he will need to remove to access serial number
if he pays to remove than it is really doing what he says
sorry bro

he wrote back.. his was a bose equiped Z...had a dealership do the install.. says they've already removed it from the car and he wants to send it back.
i told him i'd refund his payment when i get it back. Luckly i hadn't spend it yet.
situation sucks overall.

This happened to me & luckily it was insured via USPS to which I got reimbursed for the $300 replacement of the CD player. The CD player has a lock which should be in place during shipment (white plastic on top). With out it the CD mechanism is jarred & easily breaks.
