Default Navigation using Power Acoustiks 7" and Alpine DVA-9861

Ok I just bought the Alpine DVA-9861 and Power Acoustiks 7" LCD (pt700mhr - just like the farenheit) and I know how to install everything, bla bla. Is there any aftermarket navi systems available that I could put, say in one of the compartments behind the seat & load the maps disc, etc.. and run it to the LCD screen with an RCA splitter or is that completely out of the question? I don't know too much about navigation systems, so I'm not sure what all is involved to make it 'navigate' if you will.

Alpine blackbird, plugs directly into my W-200 and its awesome...I mounted the docking kit inside my armrest. I am not sure the set-up with the DVA-9861. But, I do know now that Alpine has everything straight with their navigation,,,it is incredible....I enjoy having the Double-Din navigation, like Pioneer/Eclipse but also able to pop the blackbird out of the dock and use the (suction-cup/cig lighter) holder/charger for any other car you travel in.

Are you asking if you can run navigation on the Power Acoustiks screen?

What navigation system are you going to use? I'm assuming you plan using an Alpine nav system, but you didn't say that. --Spike

EDIT: Another question: Are you asking about other available navigation systems (not specifically Alpine navigation systems)?

Great navigation system, but won't work with the thread starters' question/configuration. --Spike

True. But the thread starter is asking about connecting his Power Acoustik LCD monitor to a navigation device. He says he has it figured out, but does not say what he is going to do. I'm curious about his solution. Hope he tells us. --Spike

actually yes it will.

He can also feed the Blackbird through his 9861 and display it through the monitor he has.

Are you sure about that (tested it)? I tried, but had trouble mixing the different Alpine remote controls when I did not configure the system with an Alpine monitor.

You mention the NVE-N872A Navigation system here:
But then mention the Blackbird here:

Your information is valuable. I probably need to do more tests with different configurations. I could get it working as long as I used an Alpine monitor. When I tried this with a “foreign” LCD screen and controlling the navigation using an Alpine remote and the DVA-9861 DVD/CD/MP3/WMA Receiver, my results were disappointing. Since you have it working, I must be doing something wrong. I did e-mail Alpine Support and they told me to always use an Alpine brand monitor with their navigation products.

What is really interesting is the OP is long gone, but his thread lives on.
