Yet Another New Install
After two weeks in the garage I finally pulled off this install. It would have gone quicker but I could only devote maybe 30 mins a day sometimes. Finished on a weekend when I could get a long done without doing other stuff. My wife, son, and friends helped me during the installation which came out awesome!
Installed:
Pioneer DEH-6800MP Unit
Infinity Reference Series 6012si
Rockford Fosgate 325.1 Mono Amp
Tsunami 1.2 Farad Cap
Polk MOMO 8" subwoofers
Lots of Dynamat

Install came out looking very clean!

How'd you get the whole cut out w/ the plexi over it? I've been thinking about doing something similar just didn't know the best way to go about doing it. Thanks!

Thanks for the props! The plexi was an idea I had since every install I've seen like this is always covered. I wanted to show off the work I did so I made some mods to the panel. If you pop it off you'll see that there is a rectangular area roughly in the middle, 12 or so inches wide, 6" tall. I used a x-acto knife to cut the ribs out so I could get a 12" scale in the gap to mark a half inch border around the edges. I used a scroll saw to cut out the plastic section, and made the plexi-cover from some thin 1/16" plexi (I think it was 1/16" anyways). I cut the plexi so that there was a 1/8 border gap to the outside edge, so the plexi was captive with some room. I just used a hot glue gun to glue the plexi in place, and voila! Instant clear cover!
I'll try to get a pic of the back side of the cover so you can see it!
Have a great one!
