This has been something I have been thinking about for a while, and I just figured I would throw it out there. How doable would a front mounted bumper cam be? How good a camera would be required for good quality? I'm guessing in the novelty factor wouldn't justify the price, but I'm not really sure.

 

I would imagine it would be just like having a rear view camera. The only thing you would need to worrying about is the lens cracking due to rocks or other debris.

 

I wanted one when I was first installing my navigation and sound system. I wanted one low - like below the air dam - faced forward. You could put a piece of clear plexiglass in front of the lens to block rocks and other road hazards. I changed my mind and gave it up figuring a couple more wires in the dash would cause it to explode.

I would like to do both front and back. What kind of cameras would be best? And would i have to get any special splitters or anything like that to have the front cam on the top screen in the cube and the rear cam on my double din?

 

also interested in buying your cam. what are the specs? is it a bullet cam?
